#TakeBackOurTech is a framework that helps anyone take conscious and principled action to regain privacy and freedom.
Principled Privacy is a process of identifying how dependent you are on abusive services, and then taking action by using safeguards, or migrating entirely.
How can we evaluate new services and technology? We can look at privacy policies, see what information they are collecting, and whether it could be used to de-anonymize us. This involves networks, operating systems, email providers, browsers.
Can we take care of our own needs? We can run our own software services locally or in the cloud. These are censorship resistant, we have control, and are far more private.
How can we take care of our communities needs? Private communication channels, document stores, and organizational tools.
